4" Exhaust Install

With all the talk about the Diamond Eye kit for $275 I went for it. My old exhaust was getting down right dangerous - to anyone following me! the second picture shows the new downpipe with the old.

Here's some more pictures. The big box, the Anaconda and the clamp I used. I got the clamps from NAPA for 13.75/ea.

Some installed pictures. It's a tight fit for the down pipe. I took a mini-grinder to the heat exchange tank bracket and made a clearance notch. I also bent the the trans fluid lines going to that tank so the d-pipe didn't rub them. It's also real tight at the x-member bracket. I clearanced the pipe with a single jack beating on it supported by a plastic trash can so the other side of the pipe didn't get dented. It all fits, just real tight! When it gets swapped to the crew, the tailpipe is going to need a major remodel to clear the Ramcharger fuel tank and skid plate.

One thing I haven't finished is the hanger at the transmission. Mine is real rusted up but probably salvageable. I think it will need to be modified. Today I've been hiding from the heat recuperating from yesterday.

so when the downpipe reaches under the cab, it's in the wrong position for a 2wd? can anyone elaborate on this? is the downpipe from source or others who make the 4" downpipe for us, the same as this one from diamond eye?

the peice of pipe that connects to the downpipe he's saying.

On a 4x4 truck the pipe goes between the T-case and the frame rail, On a 2wd, the pipe lines dead smack with the crossmember.

so the downpipe itself would still ok? reason i ask is because i'll need a downpipe for the turbo i just bought and i plan to build the rest of the system myself. if the downpipe fits, and i can buy it separately from the kit for cheap (considering the whole kit is only $275) then i'd buy it.

you can build your own for less than 80 bux. hardest part is the flange, which anybody with a hydrajet will most likely cut you out for free from a piece of scrap.
