You cant build a Head pipe for $80 you need a lest 2 90's at 30 each and a 30 at $30 That's $90 + you need a flange and some pipe at $10 a foot that $100 in parts and you still need to add frt. No one is going to make you a flange for free I made one and it took 2hours and a pace of steel that would cost about $15 a water jet wont make the flange it would make the blank to make one. Ok lets get back to the Diamond Eye kit why it wont fit the 2wd trucks D.E. made there head pipe so it goes up at the last bend at about 20 degrees and to the frame about 5-10 degrees if it came back strait it would be a lot easier to make work. if you look at Source Automotive site and look at there head pipe and look at the pictures at start of this thread you will see what I am taking about. Ken

"Can't means won't"
I built mine at less than 60 bux... 23 for the 6" 90* and 25 for the 16" 90* bend and thats ALL you need, except for the flange of coarse. Then you mig or tig everything together. The rest of the kit is worth it and cheaper than you could buy a muffler and tail pipe for. Only thing i suggest is cut a slight angle at both 90* bends so it gives a little kick to level out once past firewall.

I ordered the kit from Treasure Valley Diesel in Idaho, I'd think other places would have it too. That $275 price with free shipping is a one month only deal from what I read at Diamond Eye's website.

How loud? I've only driven it around town, it sounds good with a load on it like pulling a hill.

Check out columbia river mandrel if you haven't yet. They have 4" 90's for $26 and 4" straight pipe for $8.75 a foot. They have a bunch of other good things as well. If the parts don't show up on their website that means they don't have any in stock but they are always making more and restocking.

I have a 3" v-flange and a 3"-4" reducer sitting on my desk. I have been debating if I should make my own down pipe or just buy the diamond eye kit. I think since I already have most of the parts I may as well try building the DP.

I just got off the phone with Mike at Diamond eye and he was a very good guy to talk to about this. He told me that they are going to get a 2wd truck this week and see what they need to do make a system that would work with the 2wd trucks. Ken
