Re:33" tires work under these trucks?

What year/ model is the truck?. Your sig does not say. I'm running 33x 12.5 on my 93 w250. I had to do an add-a-leaf to the front to bring it level. When the tires are new they will slightly rub the fender when the wheels are turned and the front end compresses.

Jay
1990 3/4 ton 4x4....add a leaf to the front??i think these trucks need to add a leaf to the back...they seem to sag a bit in the rear...but will it fit a stock suspension or am i going to have to do some mods??what about 31"??

Here is a picture of my truck with 33s. Stock rear (could handle 35s) and 1" add-a-leaf lift to the front.

FWIW - I've got 285/75/16's (33x11.5). With re-arched springs and an add a leaf in the front, they fit just fine.

Mike
My truck also needs a little boost in the rear. I believe an earlier post here expressed that in '92 Dodge heightened the blocks in the back about an inch. My truck also came with an add a leaf in the front (compliments of a previous owner), so a load really makes it look bad . . . I have my eye out for some of the late model blocks . . .

Re:33" tires work under these trucks?

Nice trucks Jbolt and Old Smoky! Gotta git me a digital camera so I can post the "brick". She's got 285/75/16s which required a little trimming of the fender moulding- maybe a little sheetmetal too. She's also got the "power rake" stance with butt in the air and front kinda low.
My pa-inlaw had a stock '92 with 33's that required more sheetmetal trimming and would still ocassionally rub.
I'd like to do the 21/2 Skyjackers on the front to level her off.
Just my .02, Chris

Re:33" tires work under these trucks?

actually, the 285 refers to the width, the 75 means sidewall = 75% of tread width

Re:33" tires work under these trucks?

Jbolt, I'm in Colfax, and yes I do have all my teeth!(local joke)

midwestdually, 305/70/16 may be a bit wider than 33/12.50's' but they're comparable. Have your favorite tar shop mount a couple up for a trial. Them wider hoops do look nice, but they aren't as good in the snow and might have a tiny affect on fuel mileage.
Just one of my many opinions!
Chris
