what is this 3200 spring that i hear everyone talking about? and also i am looking for gauges to put in my 92 ctd. anyone got any suggestions or places i can buy them?

Go to your local diesel shop and they can get you the spring. It is a spring that lets the motor fuel higher than stock. It's about $15 and one of the best cheap mods you can do to these old engines.

does the spring just let more fuel in and increase rpm (thus the name) or exactly what is going on?

The spring does not increase the amount of fuel the pump puts out. What it does is increses the RPM at which the governor mechanism begins to de-fuel, or limit max fuel. Max fuel delivery is increased/decreased but adjusting the full load screw, often refered to as the fuel screw. A truck with the 3200 rpm spring will FEEL a lot more powerful, though

jegs and summit are gonna be about as low as you can get on gauges unless you know someone that can get you stuff at cost.
