3200 RPM governor spring
3200 RPM governor spring
I am totally new to all this so please bare with me (once again
What is the advantage of having a 3200 RPM governor spring? On my stock 1991.0 i think the governor is 2700 RPM. How can the 3200 RPM add performance (or does it?). I have never had my truck close to 2700 RPM in 4th or 5th (2200 max). Does the spring just allow the truck to have more power in lower gears? Does 3200 RPM's hurt the engine? Also what is a good RPM to be shifting at. I have the old getrag 5spd.
thanks in advance
jeff

A stock spring starts cutting fuel at 2500 rpm. The 3200 rpm allows you to run WOT a up to 3200 without cutting fuel. 3200 wont hurt the engine, and shifting depends on what your doing, empty loaded uphill downhill, its kinda a vague question
