finally made a 3" air intake.need to get some stainless hose clamps and make two bushings for the throttle bracket.then have it powder coated.

 

What's this supposed to do if anything the factory doesn't do?

the stock crossover pipe is very restrictive.

This usually help with EGT control and gets a little more air through the motor.

 

Nice work. I think a bigger turbo would top that off perfectly.

I wouldn't expect it to make much difference on the pressure side of the turbo... but I'd be curious to hear about the results

 

have not run it more than a test drive.it snowed a little and in east if it snows a little they put down a lot of salt.i really don't think it will do much.but, I have to much time on my hands so why not try it.wanted to delete the grid heater anyway.yes, a bigger turbo would be nice.any ideas on what to try? the truck is a stock 89 with the easy to do,no cost pump mods.

 

I adapted an HX35 to my 91 when I was running non-intercooled. With a manual trans and 12cm housing, it worked really well.

I run one on my '93. Drilled the divider, boost elbow/resitrictor for wastegate, and 4" exhaust. Some say they run hot, but I haven't been able to push mine past 1200* and that's towing.
