2wd exhaust

On a 2wd anyone ever run a straight piece of pipe from the DP to the tail pipe? Are any extra bends required?

Thanks, Aaron

Ok more specifically if I get this tail pipe:

Will it be a straight shot from the DP and line up, or do I need this bend piece:

Assuming either no muffler or a straight through, no offset in/out.

Is that a 4" tailpipe you linked to?? i've never even heard of that site. lol

If you get rid of the factory downpipe with the little offset bend, you can run straight back if you make up a downpipe that outlets straight.

1st gen downpipes do like a little \ which makes it where you need that bend peice, like the factory did.

jimbo is running a 4" downpipe for a 2nd gen, it outlets straight and the outlet doesn't go towards the frame, it outlets between the frame/drivetrain.

i hope that makes sense, i wish i could draw it but i can't. its in my head though

On my 92' i have a homemade 4" dp that has 6 feet of straight 5" pipe back to the over axle piece. worked really well.

Thanks CS, I wasn't sure if that offset piece was to account for the factory offset muffler, but sounds like its not. So I suppose I'll have to order both pieces, as I don't want to build a DP as of yet.

Two 4" 90's and a peice of straight + old 3" flange + welder = 4" downpipe with no offset

yeah just don't want to do the 3" flange since I would then have to redo it for the 4" flanged turbo in a couple months. I guess I might as well wait to do it all at once.
