hey guys quick question since i might be putting the newer 12v with the p-pump in my truck, i wanted to know everything that is involved in the swap, if i do get this engine it does come with the computer and all the wiring so how hard is this swap? and has anyone done it?

 

Won't need a computer that I'm aware of...just 12v with key on for the shutdown solenoid. I'll give ya 50 bucks for your old engine---who needs those old ve engines anyway

To my knowledge the p-pump will contact the brake booster so that needs to be addressed. I know it can be done though. Other than that I'm not too sure. I would be interested to know to just how hard it would be to do a p-pump conversion.

I saw a first gen with a 2nd gen 12v. As was said the larger "P" pump will hit the master brake booster. He swwaped the stock one out for one from a 440 equipped truck. I think a little massaging still had to be done. From what I saw a 2" body lift might have fixed it as well. For some reason he didn't hook up the grid heaters, cann't remember why though. No computer needed on the 12V 2nd gens to run the p pump.
