Thanks Fellas
I cannot convey just how difficult this time has been for my wife. Beyond words, and at some point I may need to get her counseling. It's way more than I ever expected to see her react to this, but I guess her being with her mom, every day, barring a few weeks of vacations, talking, texting, helping her around the house (I mean ever day), for over 52 years....
It's actually quite unbearable to witness the suffering my wife has taken on.... but with time, I expect her to heal.... or so I hope.
Personally, I'm accepting of the fact that we are all "Finite", and we all will ultimately die. I was preparing myself for her passing a while back, and actually I was surprised she's lived so long. She wasn't sick, or anything like that, but as she aged, things just don't work well like they used to, and ultimately it was a combination of many different, albeit small things, that caused her to pass away. Luckily, she wasn't in the hospital for more than a few days, and was spared the long term suffering some of us are destined to go through. 4 days of pain, vs 86 years of being basically "illness free" is a small price, especially for someone who smoked cigarettes for nearly 45 years.
I was glad to know her....for just under 30 years.. and was lucky in the same breath..

Sorry for you and your wife's loss Tman. Eloise sounds like she was a wonderful person. There's no shame in seeking counseling for your wife. Grief counseling can be very effective in helping someone through a very difficult time. Thoughts and prayers from my family to yours for some peace in the near future.
We'll miss you two at Carlisle and the rest of us will have a beer for you. Ollie can shoot some video from the shotgun seat of the Jeep for you!

Well, got back from a really great day at Carlisle. Met up with Mr fusion, Tim, and BHD Greg, and walked through a good portion of the show area. More beautiful vehicles than I could have ever hoped to see, great hang with Oliver, his daughter, her friend Wednesday, and her father , the goat chop master.
So many great rides. Weather was near perfect. My wife and 16 year old blind and deaf beagle even had a great day, sleeping besides Ollies daughter on our blanket under Ollies Cummins Ramcharger. If Ollie had $1.00 for every person who stopped and asked him how he did it, he would have walked out if there a much richer man...

Sorry I missed everyone this year. I was up on rainy Friday. At the last minute my 72yr old dad said he wanted to go. So I was pushing him around in his wheelchair all morning. Since it was humid and rainy we didn't see any rides except what was in the truck building and the two large car haulers over near Cooter's tent. I bought a toy Charger for my son and my dad got a good used door handle and a nice set of Dee-Zee running boards for his flatbed truck. Mostly to aid my mom to get in it, LOL. Heck I'm not a running boards fan but for $20 he got a good deal. Anyone else score any good deals?

Yeah, I drank Oliver's beer for free. Other than being paid to drink, I couldn't have done any better.

We all just got back from the show.
Sorry to not meet up with you freight train this year. It was cool of you to get your dad to the show though.
I was really good and only bought a case of oil I needed, renewed my Mopar Collectors Guide mag. a couple Carlisle show Tee shirts for the family and a cool 01 patch for my daughter's jean jacket from Cooter's garage.
It was GREAT hanging with Tim, Greg, T-man and his wife for a while on Sat..
Walter and I and our daughters all got "thrill rides" in Hellcat Challengers over the weekend which was really fun for us. They drifted them around a course with a professional driver at the helm...Pretty cool stuff.
My RC was fun to drive and the tool box never came out on the whole trip. I got between 19.5 and 21 MPG on the trip and much of the highway driving was 75 MPH. I am a happy [slightly sun burned] guy. Now to sleep in a bed for the first time in days...

I didn't have time to go this year...I usually go just to see the old turbo Dodges, and our generation trucks, and the Jeeps. I did however see a 1st Gen Cummins on 83 south hear the turnpike exit, Friday evening. It was from Arkansas, with a tag that read "1stgen", was super clean, I was in my 90, so I waved and he waved back... Was that any of you guys up for the show?

Definitely a good time. I rolled into the fairgrounds about 9:30 on Saturday and had a hard time finding a spot to put my FireWagon close to the rest of its class. I got lots of compliments and questions about my build, it was one of a kind for sure, not another old school CrewCab to be seen in the showfield.
It was great to meet Oliver and his daughter and NJTman and his wife, and have a few good beers with them while checking out miles and miles of awesome and weird rides.
Weather was spot on and hanging out with good people made it an even better day. I'll be there next year for sure.

Agreed.... My 87 shelby z needs some love... I've been neglecting it for the past couple of years. The engine is all built, but I need to get the steering and suspension squared away before it goes back on the road.

Oli I am now very upset that I didn't get to see your RC. In the rain on Friday morning I thought I saw you and your daughter walking into the restaurant outside the gate but wasn't sure. I was walking the running boards out to my RC. I really didn't want dad to go as his health isn't the greatest lately. I told him the only way I would is if he stayed in the wheelchair all day unless he wanted to see something. When we parked Fri morning it was pouring down but stopped and the cloudy skies helped me keep cool pushing him. He had fun and I really enjoyed his company. Sorry I missed your RC.

Freight train,,
That would have been us headed out to the diner for breakfast on Fri. morning.
There are not too many dudes with my length hair.
The over cast day helped us stay cool as well.
Depending on how much work I have next winter, it is likely that I will be driving the Gauntlet down next summer to the show.

Filled up today, and calculated mileage. At averaging speed of 70 mph, I got 17.65 mph.
Gotta love the non winter blend.

It was really great t see the DTR crew (Ollie, Tman) and the extended DTR crew (Charlotte, Walter, Wednesday and Kathy) at Carlisle this year. I had an awesome time hanging with everyone. Bummed that I missed Freight Train and BHD. Other than Ollie's RC, and General Lee's, the highlight of the show for me was the 1st gen that had been melded into a Dodge camper van by Pieter from Finland. He had a 4 link airbag suspension under that rig that was super impressive. He spent about 45 mins showing me around the rig. I'll post up some pics later.
Great to see everyone and already looking forward to next year!
