2 stroke oil question
We don't have any of the universal stuff on the shelves here, so the outboard stuff will have to do for now.
Heading to Minneapolis next weekend, so I will scour the Wally Worlds and Fleetfarm stores for the universal stuff while I'm down there.
I hope this stuff mixes well because it hit -40 here last night!!!!! I also hope the Power Service stuff does its job and keeps the fuel from gelling!!! Shouldn't be a problem, it hasn't been the last few years.

more 2 stroke oil
Went to an automotive store (Canadian Tire) today to see if i could find any universal Super tech oil. Did not not find any but there are numerous 2 stroke oils with the TCW-3 rating; mostly oils for snowmobiles. Lucas, Amsoil, Shell just to name a few
A few of them state "low ash" content some rated for -40. Would any of these work as an addtitive?

So long as they are TC-W3, they will work.
There is conflicting information as to whether the "synthetic" will work for our applications, so I would avoid anything synthetic until more solid information is available.
I found the now-locked 97-page discussion :

Some time ago, I read it all, and also all of the links.
Once mixed = always mixed, same with any petroleum-based whatever you pour in fuel.
One drop of two-cycle in a tank of un-disturbed/un-moving fuel will soon disperse such that there is a trace of it in any drop of that fuel.
The best way to learn is to get some clear glass bottles/jars and experiment.
I have two bottles that I poured in three-inches of diesel, then added one-ounce of clear water to one, and one-ounce of red-colored water to the other, just so I could see what water in diesel looked like and how it acted.
It is amazing how quickly the water will settle to the bottom of the fuel, with a definite seperation line, no matter how well shaken.
