2 stroke oil question
Contrary to what it says on the bottle, PowerService does nothing for lubricity, in fact it has been proven that most of the anti-gels and cetane-boosters actually DECREASE lubricity of the fuel.
YES, for pump lubrication, you should add one-ounce TC-W3 two-stroke oil per gallon of diesel.
You can also add whatever anti-gel or cetane-booster you choose, ALONG WITH the two-stroke oil.
Does anyone know what the walmart supertech universal tc-w3 says on the bottle about ash content? I can,t find any at my walmart. We only have supertech outboard tc-w3 and it says ashless on the bottle and they say the universal has a lot less ash in it. Could someone help me out on this?

Of the five Walmarts in fifty-mile radius of me, I have seen the Universal on the shelves at only one.
I already had several gallons of the Pennzoil Multi-Purpose TC-W3, so I didn't get any.
Now, it seems to have dis-appeared forever; SO........, I kinda wonder if maybe they dropped the OutBoard that had the high ash content and re-labeled the Universal as OutBoard; I really am not sure.
It is sort of strange that they stock the SuperTech in OutBoard flavor and the Pennzoil in Multi-Purpose(universal) flavor.
Now, I have a beginner's question :
Stihl chainsaw oil says to mix 50:1 and it is colored dark blue, just like the TC-W3 stuff.
I can't find TC-W3, or any other rating for that matter, anywhere on the Stihl jug or their website.
Is the Stihl oil the same TC-W3 and can I just use the Walmart oil ??
Although they advertise to the contrary, I figure Stihl most likely farms their oil business out to the lowest bidder.
The 2-stroke ratings are more important for the contemporary engines with finicky injectors pumps found in modern ATVs, motorcycles, etc. Chain saws, lawnmowers and the like can run just about anything. You're really just burning it and hopefully a little gets into the rings and bore. I used to run a motor oil mix in my old Honda Elsinore CR250 and that thing ran like a bat outta...
I looked again at walmart and they do stock the supertech universal 2-stroke oil only in the 8-oz bottle, but i wonder if its the right stuff. It doesn,t say tc-w3 on the bottle and doesn,t say ashless, it only says 2-stroke oil. Is this the universal oil that rated # 1 of all the 2-stroke oils or do i have the wrong stuff?
I never even look at the small bottles, as I have always just bought gallon jugs and would buy it in five-gallon buckets if I could.
If it is TC-W3, it seems to me that they should have it printed on the bottle somewhere.

Picked some up
at Wally world today and it is the Super Tech, TC-W3 and on the back it says "ashless".
I'm assuming this is the right stuff, so its going in the tank tomorrow. Heading down to the northern States and will be checking Fleetfarm and Wally world down there for the stuff.
