1st gen pods

Do they make 2 or 3 gauge pods for our 1st gens? If so, where can I get one & how much do they run?

There's a 2 gauge pillar pod. Right from the DTR store.

I've found that the 3-gang set of small gauges (1 1/2" diameter) fit real nicely in the space for the ash tray. Remove the ash tray and frame. Power for a voltmeter is conviently available from the removed cigarette lighter.

The pillar of gauges that attach to the door frame / windshield frame are more expensive than they are worth. Somewhere between $75 and $125. I don't think they look appropriate in the 1st Gen trucks.

A nice touch is a new headliner from JC Whitney for approximately $140 allow you to put gauges above the sun visor. This one looks good in the 1st Gen trucks.

There is no triple pod for the apillar for our trucks. You can buy a dual gauge and single gauge pod, then stack them. Geno's has the Autometer pods, dual: http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo....er=GM-DG-15198 single: http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo....er=GM-DG-15199. Or get the dash mount style pods, 2,3,4, or 5 gauge available from www.usgear.com. Not on their site, gotta call em.

While we're on the subject, does anyone have pics of a 1 gen with a 2-gauge pod and a 1-gauge pod added on top?

Wow, where are you getting them? Are things that much more expensive on Hawaii? The dual gauge pod should be around $30.

Not the best pic but a a pic none the less. Anyone who sells Auto-Meter products can get you a 0ne or Two gauge pillar pod. They dont make a three.

Banks has the dash pods that wrap around the right side of the dash. 2 piece unit, around $75 for both pieces.

How do you have your guages set up ( what is on top & bottom). Being that mine is an auto & all I do w/ the truck is pull a tractor or lumber, I would like to see the trans temp, I don't know what a single pod will look like under/above a double will look like. How do they attack to the A-post, by tape or screws.

Back in the early '90's it seemed that our trucks were Banks bread and butter;today we are just a bother to them because they are too busy being caught up in the rat race for HP improvements due to todays electronics. Banks cracks me up. For a while there Banks was negative towards a dual exhaust system for diesels; they said that duals were just for looks, not function; "Why burden the consumer with the unnecessary cost" is something that I've read on their site. Well, because ATS, Bullydog, Gibson, and a host of others have a dual set up, now Banks has one.
