here's my ugly old truck, i'd like to scrap the tail gate, bed rails, and running boards, but other projects have been getting in the way...

 

oh by the way i didnt make the gate or bed rails, they were the one aftermarket thing on the truck when i bought it, believe me its SOOO nice to pull two tight fitting pins out everytime you want to hook up to the gooseneck and then fight them back in....lol

 

Your gooseneck will clear those rails?

 

yep, misses them by like a foot....i had to adjust my hitch on my trailer to be longer just for comfort...ill take a pic next time im hooked up unless i ditch the railes before then!.......on that note can anyone show me a picture of what the tail gate on one of these two tone red and white trucks like mine should look like? mine is all red with a big chrome strip in the middle and the two smaller chrome strips....shouldnt there be some white in there?...also i need to find all the hardware for the bed for the gate to latch too...

 

Finally the search is over. I found a 1991 W250 Reg cab long box 5 speed. I bought it from the original owner (84yr Old) 125000kms. The 4wd neews to be addressed but all in all its in good shape! These are the pics from the AD.

 

Wow. The flat bed we have misses the tailgate by like 6 inches. It is a joke. It hit the bed on my truck the day we bought it. I think it was designed for a two-wheel drive truck. My dad and I are really tempted to cut it up and raise the hitch a good foot. It wrecked a tailgate on my dad's truck too.

 

89 and 90 LE trucks had that badge, mine was missing when I got my truck and I just recently found that one on a pickupbox trailer, there like hens teeth

 

i would definitly hack that thing up and raise it....or put a different hitch on the trailer that has height adjustments....tail gates are getting hard to find!

 

Looks like a good solid basic truck.

 

A guy could still raise the hitch, but the front wheels on the trailer would not hit the ground, defeating the purpose of tandem axles, defeating the purpose of trailer. It needs to be cut/welded.

 

after looking at 40 some odd pages, i realized that i hadn't posted mine. i had big dreams for her when i got her, but she hasn't moved in months just sitting beside the barn. ill see if i can get better pix of her next time im out there.

Nice truck , Thats the exact truck i want. I don't want no stinkin' super LE, I want a stripper truck like that one... But i don't want those "custom" mirrors....

Here's mine. Wish my paint looked as good as yours. Started peeling and the old owner decided to spray paint over it. Looks like garbage up close. Need to update my pictures. Now has Texas Purple Heart license plates and i put on a new right brake light housing.
