I noticed in your sig that you have a donor, that is the way to go. I had a wrecked '92 aftercooled truck that I bought at auction that I used for the CTD, transfer case, axels, springs, exhaust, and a bunch of little stuff. My '75 was originally a W100, so I really needed the 92 springs and axels (can you say "spring wrap" ).

The conversion is pretty straight forward, but there are a few challenges along the way. My only suggestion is that anything that requires some backyard engineering should be done right - reliability and safety is key!

I will try to get a few more pictures in my gallery so I don't litter up this thread, and feel free to PM me with any questions that you may have! (that goes for anyone)

thanks fred look forward to seeing photos. like you say most things look pretty straight forward. i have built a t-bucket from scratch years ago . and have done a few engine transplants . counting on info from this site and the good people to get me out of the corners i may paint myself into. just nice to not have to reinvent the wheel doing one of these conversions. my donor has been bashed on every corner so only straight is the hood. couldn't tear up a nice original.

Used stone gard on the bottum 6 inches or so ,stop`s chips,(we;; it helps a lot) body molding < I have new molding and have to put it on ( because some dummy (ME) was a little rough taking off the old and left some marks i need to cover up!
The mirrors Genuine West Coast Mirrors, no not stock, (no matter how i adjusted the stock mirrors i couldn`t get the field of view i wanted) .
also have to put my new (LED) lights on tailgate (5) and flairs , and 3 on each running board .
Should look pretty good going down the road.
Figured i`de try and make it look as good as it runs.
OH , Since her name is (OLD DOG) THE HOOD ORNIMENT IS A MACK BULL DOG.
Thought that would be appropriate !
