'04.5-'05, personally I like the front end better than the '06 +, 610lb-ft, NV5600, full four door crew cab, and loads of fun with go fast parts. P-pump trucks are pretty cool as well but for a daily driver I'd have to go with a 3rd gen, no questions asked.

Anything's reliable if set up right. Could be a 53 block.

I'll put in my 2 nickels while I'm here. I love my 1st Gen and will likely have it a very long time. By the time this one wears out, there's no telling what will be on the road. I have noticed that any 3rd Gen Dodge or Ford seems to be selling for about 50% more than what they're really worth (or that's the asking price at least.) Hell look in the classifieds here and you will see plenty of newer trucks with 50k miles for sale for 30-40 grand, which in my mind is ludicrous considering you can go buy a new one for the same price. I've seen countless listings for 5+ year old trucks with 100k miles on them with asking prices around $20k. I know a guy on another forum that just paid $7500 for a '99 F250 with 250k miles on it. With that being said, if my 1st Gen wears out (meaning the body or drivetrain) then I plan on buying an older 1-ton crew cab and swapping the Cummins into it. I've been fond of the idea of taking an early 90s Chevy 3500 CC dually, swapping the Cummins in it backed by an NV4500, and putting a slight lift to give it enough height to run 255s.

Now, if I could just buy another truck it would probably be a F350 4x4 CC, whether it's a 1st Gen or the early Super Duty (99 to 01).

06-07 Crew cab shortbed GMC duramax LBZ with an allison. Black.

I'm sorry but i don't think i'd every want a 3rd gen, i love cummins but i'm not a fan of dodge trucks. my dad's 05 is a clunker, the torque converter just blew up and took the trans with it at 60,000 miles, its rusting, and the interior is ugly and not that dodge has ever been good with interiors but jeeezz...

Everything under the front end of my dad's 05 has been replaced, upgraded, and denied by dodge at least once.

dodge dealer man- "death wobble, i ain't ever heard of no death wobble"

The only problem we've ever had with GM trucks is they don't offer a cummins in them,

yeah I'm with you on that. But then again I'm not a fan of any of the big 3 conpanies. They all have their problems. It's probably why I own a 20 year old simple POS that I can almost do all my own work on, and I'm no mechanic. Just because it's Dodge doesn't mean I like Dodge.

Yeh I don't like that 4wd IFS setup on the new bowties. I'm not 100% hardcore no IFS like some guys but I just think that it is junk on the chebbies/hummer H2s. IFS on the new OSHKOSH military rigs is cool though, beefy stuff.

Man I don't know where that came from. I work on them everyday of the week. I love them because they always have problems and I make money. Now with the New LLM eninge I'm ****** cause those are only eating turbo's. But time and miles will tell what the weak point is there.
BTW allison is the only choice, the zf was omitted because of low demand.
