I am probably finally going back to work that week. Off since December 10th. Been off due to hand/wrist surgery. Could have been back sooner did 3 fractures in my left foot.Got my foot caught in a rat nest of wires for the gauges I had taped to the dash. I fell out of the truck my foot stayed in there. It's an injury that horse riders get when their foot is caught in their stirrup and fall to the ground.

Is this the first time they have done this?

Rug_Trucker, at least it didn't drag you through rocks and cactus like you used to see in all the old westerns. You do know that they mostly used stunt doubles for that. Glad to hear you are recovering.

Thanks!
I do my own stunts! Luckily the asphalt cushioned my fall. I stepped out of a Freightliner thinking I was stepping onto the parking lot at work. Broke the wrist, tore up a bunch of ligaments. Working for 2 weeks after that before seeing the doctor. Didn't work for 5-5 1/2 months last year.

Both injuries were on February 28th one year apart. Next February 28th I am staying in bed.

Nonrev cancer is crazy. I have been seeing a woman who has recently been diagnosed with a tumor in her lung. Did her first chemo last Tuesday. 4-5 more scheduled last being in September. She said she wouldn't do it. Her and her husband battled prostate cancer for 16 years. Her sons, and doctors talked her into treatment. Told her I would back her in any decision she made.

Rug_Trucker, I don't want to hijack Olivers thread, that said you and her family being by her side through this will be one of the most important things for her.

That campground is about as convenient as it gets! I'll have to bring some earplugs as my campsites are usually along a lake, river or ocean... At least the tent sites are primitive so I won't have to listen to a genny all night (hopefully?).

Rug Trucker - I think I'd just stick to a story that your boot got hung up in the stirrup while you were bronc busting...

Shot off your horse sounds even better!

I talked to Robert on the phone today and he said they were almost at capacity already! He said there will be five tours on Thursday and some that typically (or ever) aren't toured by the public.

Wow, just realized the Homecoming was in conjunction with/during the Ultimate Callout Challenge. Gonna be a wild weekend...

I'll be meeting the Vermont convoy somewhere in western PA or eastern OH. I plan to do the Cummins tours and Day 1 at the Racetrack.

I would like to go to this. Not sure of when I am going back to work. Possibly on 5/27. If I could sleep on the front seat of the truck for a night or two at the event location. I would hope Evan Ratcliff, Gavin Hukes and others would be there.

If I could take a week's vacation then. I am due on 5/29. Not sure how that works. Not comfortable parking my truck at a hotel. Wish I had a topper!

I will be camping out of a tent next to my Ramcharger at the Family Racetrack Campground, with a few other 1st genners. We plan on showing up Wed night and leaving for home Sunday morning. We are doing the Cummins Factory tour on Thursday.

I would guess Gavin and Evan would be there.

Gavin is in SW MO. Maybe not. His truck got whacked with softball sized hail. Evan, hopefully. He lives pretty close to the track. I saw them trying to diagnose Robert Cummins problem with his new IP and injectors of Fakebook.
