New to DTR but have always had a cummins on hand at my families farm and just bought a 92 5spd 4x4.
I have built other simple bumpers for my other cars (jeeps, broncos, etc.) and im trying to get some ideas for designing one and building one for my newest project. So im looking for pics ands ideas of 1st gen bumpers, front or rear that are heavy duty Thanks

The last rear bumbper I made was out of 8"x35# wide flange I-beam w/ hitch tubes welded on each end, one in the middle and two more even with the frame, plus two welded vert. on each end to drop in diff. tools like it was a work bench. Very heavy and stout. Didnt get any pics before I sold it, but I think I could find the plans I made for it if you want.

Heres a pic of the one I threw together for my truck.

A 100 lb speed bump took out the orginal bumper.

WOW! I like that. That is a very clean install. How is the bumper mounted? Is it White Tail proof? Can you PM me dimensions or material list? That would be a nice project for this winter. The only problem I would have is the radius bends in the tubing. But I know a shop that might be willing at a reasonable cost.

It is mounted to the same bolt holes as the orginal bumper. The uprights are 1/4" plate water jetted to size and made to fit into the orginal bumper mount area. The bumper is three pieces made from 10 gage or 1/8" steel whichever you want to call it. The square tube is thin wall.

The ends of the bumper are just capped off. The two small holes in the bumper are for driving lights. They are not installed in the pic's.

Here is a view of it on the truck and a unfinished view.
