Fastest 5spd 1st Gen, sure.

Faster than the quickest manual trans diesel that is known at 11.2ish, nope. Those ZF6's and DMaxes are where it is at.

 

I love when people tell me stuff like that. Just more motivation to get it done.

 

I was working on the truck every free minute to try and get it there, but the very last thing I had to do was weld the spider. As soon as I pulled the diff cover I saw the bearings were shot. Tried like crazy to find new bearings but it just didnt happen. After all the long hours and nights, the disapointment.....

It'll be hitting the track soon though and I'll plan ahead so you can come down.

 

I took my heap to the track tonight again and it went 14.33 @ 94 mph. My best 60' time was 2.16.

Not my truck, but I know Josh (12vchecydually) won't mind if I post it...

1981 D100 with an 89 VE engine and bone stock 727 (converter, vb, everything), and a 9" swap
6x.016's, S254/S478, 3200 spring, and a little AFC work and she clicks off 12.40's all day long.

Best of 12.43 @ 102 gear bound.

It's not a 1/4th mile time, but this heap just set a new best in the eighth (@ 250ish feet).
