What method did you use to sling the cab on and off the truck?

Called up 3 buddies and we each grabbed a corner of it. It was not all that heavy---seat and dash out of it of course.

I keep digging deeper and deeper into my truck and have some questions. Why is it that you powder coated your frame? I want to clean mine to the bare metal and seal it off (as it's still fairly good) but don't know how and haven't heard of a ton of people powder coating their's. How is the powder coat holding up thus far and would you recommend it? Any recommendations for restoring the inside of doors? I've got some good ones just a little surface rust on the inside. Thanks for the help man, your truck is a great example of what's right to do.

I decided to go with powder coat, because of the depth of this restoration, might as well do it all the way when pulling it down to a bare frame. It is the most durable, strongest coating possible for a frame that I know of. I have hit it with a hammer accidentally and not chipped it. Installing bolts, jack stands resting on it, etc; no chips; no scratches. I also powder coated the rad support and inner fender wells. Prep was everything, if there is deeper rust, (and their was) it needs to be sand blasted and cleaned thoroughly--or it has the potential to pop thru the powder coat down the road, just as it would with any coating. I plan to keep this truck forever and hand it off to my kids one day; so i want it to be built to last. There arent many places that have the facilities to powder coat a truck frame, but luckily, there was a place here in town with an oven large enough for it.

As far as the inside of the doors; if you have surface rust, sand it the best you can, and seal it with a product such as Eastwood Rust Encapsulator--it will seal it for a very long time, and is very tough, it can be used as a top coat, perfect for inside the doors. SEM Rust Seal is also good for minor surface rust; same thing, sand it smooth, coat it; but the SEM requires a top coat over it. You could add rubberized undercoating or some sound mat to quiet the truck down inside there if you wanted to.

Thanks for the props on my truck, and good luck with yours!
