1993?
I recently paid $3500 for a 1993 1Ton Dually, 2WD, extended cab 5spd. 142,000 miles.
It was cheap because it wasn't running right. It may need a lift pump or possibly a rebuilt IP. It has a couple of decent dents, a bed full of hay, peeling paint, broken tailgate, etc. Needed a new thermostat right away. Speedo doesn't work. It also needs ball joints and other front end work.
When I saw it for $3500 I jumped at it, even with the problems. I'll likely dump another $1500 to $2000 into it, plus a dozen weekend days of wrenching, before I consider it useable.
My advice is to weigh the condition of the truck and the work it needs, against your budget and amount of free time. $3500 is really on the low end and they'll go right up to $6000+ in good condition. I'll probably have $6000 into mine before I know it.
