I'm not an indoor cat person...but wife and daughters have two indoor cats. I have to tolerate them to keep them happy.
Sucks to have any animal that has become part of the family pass away.

Sorry to hear about your little buddy. Red cats ( orange ) seem to be so full of personality, from my experiences. Wife and I let her mom's kitty go the other day. Doc sent Mr Peanuts along and I'm sure he and Toby are chasing mice together. I miss the little bugger as he used to greet me anytime I stopped by her house. Some furry friends are exceotional, and we're privledged to experience them

I had a cat (Aggie) that used to come around and pester me anytime I was laying under the truck. Good fun, but really distracting. He considered my job to be petting him, not fussing with a darned truck.

Toby and I fixing the busted septic vent shortly after my wife and I moved into our house and inherited Toby. He came with the house. The previous owners abandoned him. About a week after we moved in he came out of the woods to see about us. He was a long haired cat and I could see his ribs. I went inside and put a can of tuna in a bowl for him. He scarfed it down and we were tight after that. He was still hungry so I called my wife and asked her to pick up cat food on the way home. That was 8 years ago.
You're right Tman: orange cats are the best!
Thanks for the pic of the Head Inspector Deere Country!
Jmartin, One of the great things about Toby was that he would hang out but not be in the way. When needed love he would let you know. He would always visit with my wife and I (and guests) when we had camp fires in the back yard.
Just wanted to thank you guys for your kind words and stories.
