so started work on the ft. diff. to check out the steering. got in there with a pry bar and all seemed tite by what i could tell. pulled dr. side cap off the spring loaded bushing, that all looked good. i had not realized there was an adjusment there, to align the ft. end buy turning the offset bushing. that also looked good. pulled the bottom king pin off. it looked good as well.so i quess all i can do now is hope to find a reputable shop to do an alignment.as i previously said it has cupped the tires bad, and on one side worn the tire rite off on the engine side of the tire.
As far as the easily adjustable things, you can as good a job in your driveway (w/tape measure) as an alignment shop.
How old/effective are the shocks? How tired have the kingpin bushing springs become? Both can be a factor in tire cupping.
The fact somebody has put in eccentric adjusters under the kingpin caps is suspicious. (Not factory). Are they factory one with a good bit of wear? Were they trying to correct for a bent/warped housing? Did they get put in by mistake? Are they correcting or compounding a problem the way they are indexed?
