hey guys...looking at a dodge with 285k miles. 4x4 auto price 9,500.00

good deal, high miles???

 

seems a little high, down here where im from we can find a truck like that for 5,000, but it all depends on how it was kept up and what it has done 2 it! give us some more info u could be hooked

 

seems pretty clean and straight.
just scared of the high miles?

 

Welllll..... mine had 258,000 on it when I paid $5,000 for it back in April...

A guy I know went and looked at that one and said it's in pretty rough shape, he gave me a bunch of details but I can't remember them, nothing good to say about it though.

 

Don't know where you are from but I paid $8000 for mine with 410,000 kilometers. Original owner, great maintenance and cleaner than most 200,000 k trucks.

 

285K - high miles? engine is good for lots more miles, it is the question of what has been done for maintenence on the vehicle. I just go mine two months ago with 295K. I know that i have to do all the fluids and maybe a few bearings. Nothing a few hours and a few dollars that will take care of.

The price is a little high, but work them down. If it doesnt work out, then look around the corner and you will find one.

 

9,500 is kinda steep.best be a sick *** truck for that much.before i got my truck(screamin deal from a friend) i was looking at a 93 extra cab for 7,800. shop around.if you are committed to buying a first gen dont be afraid to drive for it.and if you dont feel about it like your first love (girlfriend) dont buy it..it will become the evil ***** that takes all your money and you cant just jump in for a ride
