1991 D250 repairs.
I started working on my truck since the weather has cooled off.
I started off with replacing the shocks, as my truck would bounce like a basket ball when certain bumps were hit. I had to use an angle grinder to cut the nut off of the old shocks. The shock were completly shot. Next i replaced all of the steering linkage assembly last weekend. I had one tierod end that was bad. The passenger side wheel could be moved over an inch side to side with the tierod wobbling.
i used the chaulk and tape measure to realign the truck. The ball joints feel tight with no play however the boots are shot. I just greased them up and went on. The front brake pads were shot so I changed them. Man it drives better now.
Over the extended thanksgiving weekend I tackled the kdp. I removed the radiator to make the job easier plus I wanted to change the coolant. My truck holds a tad over 4 gallons of coolant. The dowel pin was recessed in the hole so it had not moved. The timing case and cam retainer bolts were all tight except one. The case bolt over the crank and cam gear was finger tight. If that fell out it would have been bad
I used blue locktite on all of the case bolts I could get to. I used a piece of soup can to make a kdp tab and used a punch to form it into the hole. I used a gasket on the timing case. I tacked the gasket to the case with ultra grey gasket maker. My crank has two shallow grooves so I installed the crank sleeve that came with the seal kit. I coated the inside of the sleeve with green locktite and used the crank dampner to press it on. I used two of the long timing cover bolts as guide pins to install the timing cover.
I used a round piece of wood to drive out the old seal to avoid damaging the case. I ran a bead of green locktite around the seal case joint.
The a/c pulley has been squeaking and driving me crazy. Apparently you cannot by an a/c clutch assembly for the truck. My clutch is in good shape. I bought the bearing for the pulley. Rockauto listed the wrong bearing size. The bearing is press fit into the pulley. I used my shop vise and a socket to press out the old one. I used the old bearing to press in the new one also using the vise. The squeak is gone!
I want to give a big Thanks to you guys on hear and all of the other Cummins threads all over the net with how to information.

Yes I have been busy. Replaced the driveshaft center bearing last weekend. Replaced the wiper motor and washer nozzles this morning outside in clody damp 35 degree weather. Cold for Georgia! Now I can drive in the rain. Wiper blades were replaced a few months ago. I didn't know the wipers didn't work until I tried them with the new blades. Lol
