1990 w250 ???

I looked at a 1990 W250 cummins,5 speed, 4WD, reg cab, 113,000 miles. Truck seems to be in good mechanical condition. Rear fender is rusted threw and rocker panel on one side is too. Truck looks to have been setting for a couple years. The underneather has alot of surface rust. They are wanting 5,500 firm. What do you guys think. These trucks are hard to find. I offered 4500 but wouldnt budge.

Thanks

There are hidden places like by the fuel tank that can rust away without you knowing it.

There have been people here who have bought a truck thinking it was in great condition only to find the frame was rusted out.

Personally I would not buy from anyone that would not negotiate especially if he knew it has rust and there could be hidden damage.

But that is just me.

I paid almost $18,000.00 for mine and even he negotiated.

Jim
BTW what state are you in?

Rust or not, that truck would sell in hours around here for that price.

Jim is correct though, crawl under it and inspect the frame rails closely. From WV though, I would bet they are OK.

Depends on where you are located. If you are around the salted areas like me, there isnt much of an option. I would just carefully examine the frame. I have a dime size rust hole between my bumper frame and tow hitch that I need to have fixed. But I have been offered 8k for mine and it isnt very nice lol.

He's putting high value on the low mileage. I'm thinking $3500 max myself. Its not a club-cab and non-IC.

Non intercooled,
We will have the only trucks that will survive an EMP strike.

That should make them more valuable to the right person.

With low mileage, you need to make sure the odometer is actually working, it is a common failing part of a 1st. Gen truck.
