Slowly making progress on the tunnel. Will set it up to use the stock f550 boots.

After this is done will have my friend come out with his blaster again and get the underside of the cab and drivetrain done, then paint. Hopefully within the month the drivetrain and cab will be home for good.

Then to get the engine fired up 😊

You are making good progress.
I like the patchwork on the transmission tunnel.

Thanks! Been a while since I’ve done patch work, figure this is good practice before I mess with the fenders.

Patches in

Bondo and a bit of paint to please the eye. Cab interior will be finished in bed liner, so whatever imperfections are there, won’t be noticeable.

Got the cab on the ground so I can start fitting the third gen dash. Oh yea, I am swapping in a third gen dash.

Not quite where I want it yet, but getting closer. Ducting will be tough to do, but will save that for down the road, just want to get the mounting done for the dash and seats so I can get the cab prepped for bed liner inside and underneath.

So very much looking forwards to having all the drive train and cab painted and nested where it will sit permanently! Then I can start really getting this thing looking like a truck again, and running too!

Looks like things are gonna be snug in that interior by the time the dash and steering column are in, and the seats get fitted.

Up top it will be about the same as a 1st gen dash, aside from the middle section which comes out a bit more. That first picture of the dash not cut yet, makes it look a lot tighter then it will be. The bottom is what I am still working on bringing in closer to the fire wall. Have a about 1 more inch up top and three more inches below to move still. I will also be removing the very bottom section which in the newer trucks moulds into the transmission tunnel.

Thank you, it’s been quite the undertaking! One I’m not so sure I would do twice 😅

There is a conversion specific thread on cumminsforum that I have been documenting it on, if you’re interested in having a peek.

Apologies to the mods if I’m not allowed to post links to other dodge/diesel specific forums, will remove if for some reason it is not allowed.

If by gawk you mean help, you’d be welcome anytime 😜
