Thanks.

Should move some pretty good air down low where the VE makes all its fuel. The primary is a 9cm housing, and the secondary a 19cm, am hoping that means a really quick spool!

Remember way back when bc847 did compounds, thinking to myself, “one day!” The day is getting closer!

‘Almost a truck’ shot.

Had to see what kind of clearance I had for the primary turbo…just enough.

Got moved into a shop to finish working on this truck.

Time to start the Flatdeck build

Got all the steel, and a bunch of time this winter to get it done by spring for blasting and paint.

It’s a start.

Going to be a real beast.
Tool boxes, tire carrier. What's the cylinder tank, air?
About what's a wheel & tire weigh anyway? Can you even get it up there (and back down)?
Real nice metal work BTW.

Did you take any pictures of the front fender stretch / metal work. I am assuming you spliced in a section from another fender in...?

The front rims and tires look smaller than the rears? Are the rear super singles?
KRB has a point getting that spare above the cab would be some job without that gantry crane handy.

This truck is looking good!

Yes the tank is air, may simplify and just carry around an engine driven compressor instead though. Which comes to the question about the tire, it will just be the rubber up there, no wheel, but even then It’s still near 200lbs to manhandle, so will likely have to build some sort of lifting device, which would also aid loading the compressor, and welder for that matter.

Maybe some sort of manual picker that can be taken apart and put away somewhere neat and out of the way.

Other pictures are on my computer somewhere, but found these. This was the easiest way to stretch them, since I didn’t need height, just used a small chunk of sheet metal to fill the gap. Inner fenders were trickier.

The wheels and tires are the same diameter, however the rear are wider. 385/60r22.5 in the rear, 11r22.5 in the front. Had considered doing 385/60r22.5 all around, I have the room with the fenders stretched, but my steering system would likely not survive, and this particular steering box can’t be tapped for hydraulic assist.

Did not want to be reliant on the typical super single tires used on the f550’s, in case of a tire issue, they would be hard to find, whereas this combination of tire are literally everywhere.

Thanks for the comments guys.

What do you estimate the final weight to be? Your sig says 19,500 GVWR.

This length chassis cab is about 7300lbs, the deck and cabinet will be around 3000lbs when everything is said and done. The Cummins with an extra turbo is about the same as the 6.4 that came out of the truck. Tires are lighter in the rear by 80lbs because of singles, 100lbs heavier in the front. With a built bumper probably another 100lbs up front. If I were to guess, without tools the truck will weigh 11,000lbs, with tools 13,000lbs. Leaves me about 6,500 payload. Gcwr is 33,000, so can still tow a 20,000lb 5th wheel.
