so my friend calls me at about 530 yesterday (30min before im off work) tells me he cant get it to move. i tell him to just hit it hard on the housing with a regular mallet. he puts teh phone for 5 min. comes back on and says, ok i got it off.
score. i go over to his house pick it upgo home and install everything in about 45min. go for a test a drive and HOT DMAN , its like the truck went on a diet and lost 3000lbs. bet 150 bucks ever spent.

If you have a torch, heat up the turbo housing, Heat makes metal EXPAND, and spitting on it won't tell you squat as to how hot it is, go to 400 to 500* on the cast iron housing, if any doubts about how hot it is, use a temp stick, they're cheap and can be ordered from McMaster-Carr. On pumps with bolts that won't move, we heat the head until cherry red, give it a minute to stop glowing, they back out 99.9% of the time. Getting it hot before you do anything with it is something we all should know about.....
