A non i/c auto motor will have no overdrive. The transmission is the TF727, your basic 3 speed. These trucks have a top to bottom flow radiator that is smaller then i/c trucks. They have a larger injector bore that makes them easier to turn up, but it makes the casting a bit thinner and more prone to cracking. Back to the transmission... Since diesels (the cummins) has a smaller RPM band then a gas motor, the rear end has to have very fast gears in it to get to highway speed. For example if your truck had 4.10 ratio in the rear it would top out at around 55mph with everything wound tight. All that to say that your truck should have a 3.07 ratio in the dana 70 rear axle. I would test drive it and make sure it gets up to 70MPH on the highway, just to make sure someone hasn't swapped axles. Also check the oil in the axle and look for leaks. The ring and pinion set are no longer in production, so it is an ordeal if you have a rear end failure in this rare ratio. You can change bearings, but if you need gears you can't get them. Hope this helps.
