Working on the transmission have questions
My transmission has been acting up and from the searchs I have done it could be the temp sensor or the OD solenoid. I already installed a POT kit for the TPS but still having issues.
My Questions:
Trans temp sensor:
I have read that some have used a resistor. Is this in place of the sensor or to by pass the sensor?
OD Solenoid:
I'm still not sure were it is located, I was told it is on the side of the valve body. I read a Chrysler bullitn that said it was on the lower valve body?
When I pulled the pan and changed the filter there is two I think black boxes underneath the filter. Is this the OD solenoid pac or something else?
I'm going to work on the tranny this weekend starting with the simple things, checking wiring harness conection and testing the temp sensor. So if I find that the temp sensor is bad I wanted to know what my options were if I needed to replace it or?
Thanks for your help

On a RH the sensor is about a foot ahead of the tranny, driver's side on the metal output tube to the cooler. Only thing in that area with wires going to it.
Pretend the sender no longer exists.
The male connector prongs on the sender wire to the computer have a split in them that you can open up with a knife, insert the resistor leads then squeeze tight with pliers.
Tape the whole thing up then cable tie the extra wire up on top of the tranny or bell housing.
Beware, you can overheat the tranny with no warning with no sensor. Best to install an aftermarket temp gauge if you're going to leave it disconnected.

Yes you are correct, thanks for clearing that up for the OP. Was a little late!
On a side note; Run into a lot of chrysler transmissions needing those, from our 47s to the jeeps. Also replace manual valve.
Thanks
