Its on top of the engine by the number 1 valve cover...

I know its not the TPS plug...

Can you be more specific? Is it a pipe thread plug? If you want help you got to be more specific and descriptive. Can you take a picture of it? What are you trying to do?

Its a sensor type plug, and I want to know why its just laying there and why its not in use...

Cummins supplies engines as plug & play. Most engine wire harness have a plug for electric fan clutch.

That is correct - Dodge harnesses are wired for all the options.

You're not missing anything , but if that excites ya, take a look at the rest of the harnesses in the engine bay, under the truck, in the cab, etc - dozens and dozens of un-used connectors, just waiting to be discovered, filled.

Just think of all the enjoyable hours you can spend in various boneyards, pulling the goodies offa disabled trucks, cleaning them up, and bolting them in place.

Why, you might even have to resort to jcwhitney.com for some of the missing goodies!
