WHOOPS! Dropped Delivery Valve Washer.
Putting in my 191 delivery valves in my truck tonight. Of course like a meathead I dropped a spring with three little washers. I managed to find the 2 big washers, but the extra thin one is missing in action. Can I put it back together without blowing up my pump? The #4 and #6 springs had 3 washers. The #5 ( the one I dropped will only have 2)

Common sense tells me without the washer, the spring tension will be less, but how will this effect pump life?

Will my truck just run a little rough? I am going to heading down to Piers on Wednesday......

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP I need my truck tommorow and for the rest of my life......
I don't know about that but when I put my injectors in I lost one of the thin washers that go on the bottom of the injector so I put 1 bigger on in until I could get a new thin one. The truck was really jerck and wanted to idle up and down when it hit that piston. I would waite or go try to find the washer.
DM01

Re:WHOOPS! Dropped Delivery Valve Washer.

The pump will work with a thin delivery valve washer missing. It will not have the pressure set properly for that injector, so will miss, cough, and create lots of problems. Do not try to run with a thick washer missing, that can lead to injector damage from a major change in displacement volume.

Swamp Donkey,

I would try to get it fixed when you can because I wonder if the spring tension would change over time without that washer.
