Anyone know the Cummins number for the delivery valve washer?

I'm setting my timing and want to buy the washer. Anyone know the Cummins number so I can avoid getting ripped off at the Dodge dealer?

Bob

BTW I just called the Dodge dealer and they want $34 for the washer. My experience has been that Dodge is 3 to 4 times as much for the same part from Cummins.

I just got off the phone with Diamond Diesel in Oakland and he said that the 1997 pump doesn't have a copper washer. There is an o-ring that is there to keep dust and debris out and that it it.

wait I lied
The delivery valve gasket can be either bronze or steel, or on new injection pumps, there is often no gasket.

If the gasket is bronze, use a pick to remove it from the top of the pumping element; if the gasket is steel, use a pick or a magnet. Discard the used delivery valve gasket.

nspect the fuel injection pump bore for debris. The bore must be free of debris.

If a gasket was removed from under the delivery valve, install a new delivery valve gasket (Cummins Part Number 3824567) into the fuel injection pump. Do not use a gasket if this is a pump with gasketless delivery valves. See attached list of pumps that have or do not have delivery valve gaskets.

Only '94 and '95 use the washer.
From what I understand they don't really need them either.

Thats been my understanding as well. I've always heard to throw them away when you are taking the DV's out.

Quick question on this subject. I have a set of 181's waiting on me to install.
What do I need to install them on my "95?

Thanks,

Ronnie

Delivery valve socket and a torque wrench. A magnet works good for getting the DV's out, but needle nose pliers will also work. Once you get the old ones out, reassemble and torque to 90 ft-lbs.
