pre-lube
Does anyone know where to hook up the output side of a prelube, besides the top of the oil filter head and the oil pressure gauge port, The filter port doesn,t produce any reading om the pressure guage and the oil guage port is too close to the sender to be reliable
Like what Infidel said, but I think you won't be able to clear the oil filter with the sandwich adapter if you have A/C. I would tap into the oil filter port. If you want, the only full flow filter I know of that has an anti-drainback valve for these engines is the Amsoil. Get that so you don't drain all the gunk from the filter back into the crankcase when you turn on the prelube. Should add pressure too.
Another thing you can do is relocate the oil filter, but I personally wouldn't feel comfortable doing that.

I may be totaly mis-understanding you guys, but wouldn't a sandwich adaptor, or drilling into filter port be the same as connecting to the prt on top of the filter housing, where I am now. apologies if I,m not getting the message and thanks for the reply's
i have the amsoil dual remote set up on mine and it can take up to 40 seconds for it to read oil pressure! So i took it off and being as careful as i can i used the ports along the block on the other side. I let it sit for 3 days and then i fire her up i got good reading! My filters sit out front below my radiator. I don't have a dodge pick up. I swapped it into a P-30 USPS truck. That baby keeps the oil really clean as well. I went 5000 miles before my first oil change. It still looked clean but i changed it anyway to be on the safe side!
The problem I'm having is , I have the pre-lube connected into the top of the filter mount, along side the turbo oil feed line, and when I actvate the pre-lube, it empties as it should, but I get no reading on the oil pressure gauge, so I am assuming that the oil out of the pre-lube is going through the oil cooler and into the pan not into the oil rifle. So I was trying to find a port in the oil rifle that would provide pre-start oil pressure. The pre-lube unit I am using is a 3 quart unit and discharges oil at 32lbs, so it is plenty big enough for the 5.9 Cummins. It has been suggested that the oil is going through the turbo feed line and then into the pan, but either way, it is not providing bearing lube to the engine, which is the whole purpose of this little excersize.

That's weird that you say that because when I had a preluber installed on my last truck I did see pressure, about 20-30 psi. Now I did have it going straight into the full flow filter with a check valve (I relocated the oil filter), but if you get the Amsoil filter with a built in anti-drainback valve and leave your setup the way it is, you should see pressure. You should see some pressure right now too. What year is your truck. I think on some years the oil pressure gauge was pretty much just a dummy gauge.
