who has the best nv4500 rebuild kit?

hi ya'll, been a while since i posted. well my 3rd gear is about ready to go out. i'm taking up to a friends shop tomorrow to tear it apart. i'm wondering who has the best rebuild kit? i just got done talking to 4x4quad, they seem like pretty good people. the guy was telling me they only use oem stuff and it's all made in the u.s.a.. he said something about steel ring's or syncro's? this will be my first tranny rebuild so please bear with me. is there a big differnce between between them and some other kits?
i use my truck, this thing is no pavment queen. i don't offroad as much as i use to, but it does spend time in the wood's hauling tree's, rock's, and anything else i can get in the bed or hook a chain to. i'm also sending the clutch back to southbend for a facelift. i want to do this whole rebuild once and not have to replace something in a year or two.
after i get it back together i gotta haul about six car's to a friend's house for him to work on, no rest for the wicked. so any help would be great, and i thank ya'll in advance.

You DEFINITELY cant go wrong with Dan from Quad 4x4, especially if you actually use your truck. He probably one of the best around.

If you can do it yourself, thats the parts I would use. I couldn't take the shop time so I just did an exchange locally for less than it was going to be to have it rebuilt. The exchange also had the upgraded nut and fully splined shaft, so I went the easy route..

thank's ya'll, there is a kit that has four steel ring's that are inner and outter. he said these might not be damaged so i won't have to replace them. it's almost two hundred dollar's differnce in the kit's. can anyone tell me about these ring's. i want to do this right but i don't want to spend money on something i don't need.

I used Zbag and I was very happy. I had 3 transmissions (NV4500 and NV 5600) from them and like them better than new.

I did Standard Transmission, they have been recommended on here by many people.

You also cant go wrong with Quad4x4.

I would stay away from Blumenthals. They charge big money for inferior parts.
My last rebuild from them lasted 8 months and 4 of those months the truck didnt run.

no sure haven't, i'll stick to what i know. so i got the tranny tore down today with help from an old school diesel man. we took the pto plate off and there she was. i broke two teeth off the small gear on the counter shaft. so i got to get a whole new shaft, this one is a one piece. we figured this out while trying to press the two gear's off. after 15 ton's the teeth starting to chip and flake, so he decided to stop before something bad happened.

what would be the better counter to get, a one piece or the three piece? 4x4 quad has both and i need an opinion.
