white smoke

i just picked up a 1995 cummins 12v auto. it is very hard starting and to get it to start you must hold the pedal to the floor and it will finally come to life, but when it runs and you try to move it it constantly poors white smoke and the exhaust smells like diesel fuel but when you mash it ,but if you tap the throttle it puffs black? The fuell plate was in stock position and had never been messed with, antifreeze and oil look like brand new, no funny color at all. I was told originally to check the injectors and they came back good..... so any suggestions?

Look for air getting into your fuel supply lines, or slipped timing.

Would be my first thing to check.
