whats with all the KDP talk? please educate me!
ok whats with all this talk about the KDP whats it stand for and i know i have to tab it or whatever im new to diesels ive only built jeeps up until now..... i searched and read some write ups on it. whats the problem with it? and how important is it to do?

As you probably know "KDP" stands for "Killer Dowel Pin." The dowel pin is located behind the front cover of the Cummins 5.9 Engine on the earlier model engines. It is basically an "alignment pin" but without modification can fall out and get inside the front cover where it will bounce around and damage gears, the front cover etc. There are alot of inexpensive ways and kits to fix it.
My suggestion is to go to our SEARCH FUNCTION at the top of every page.
Click on SEARCH and then enter the words Killer Dowel Pin. You will have ALOT of reading as their are a bunch of threads on it.
