What twin turbos should i get for my setup?
I have an industrial injection phat shaft 62/65/14 right now that I like, it just takes until you hit around 2100 rpms to light and by then the egts are getting up around 1000-1100 and then keep going up once it takes off. I would really like to get a twin turbo set up for the truck in my signiture but im not sure what I should get. I would like to incorporate the industral injection turbo that I have now but I would sell it to buy two new ones if that were neccessary. I really would like to increase horsepower (im at around 430 hp right now) and lower egts substantially as I cant really use this truck to pull my big 32' and 40' trailers because of the egts on the hills. All educated input on this topic and what some of you are running right now would be greatly appreciated. I would also consider adding an ats intake manifold and a snow mpg max water meth system to lower egts but I wont spend the money on the snow system if my egts are in check with twins.

There is no way that turbo should be lighting at 2100 rpm. My 64/71 was around 1700 rpm. My 66/73 was at 2k rpm. Sounds like a boost leak or a wastegate is leaking. Check those before, as you shouldn't be getting that hot with those small of injectors.
agreed. i have the same turbo and it lights well below 2000 depending on what gear i am in . . .
i only have egt issues at wot when the boxes are turned up a bit. have not had a chance to tow with it yet though . . .

i have bark issues, but i have learned to drive around them.
mine only barks when the tranny shifts from 3-4 while locked up, as well as when i let off the throttle too quickly. the higher the boxes are turned up, the easier it barks . . .

I had that turbo and it wouldn't light until very late also. It will be even slower with a big one under it.
Call Source, they won't mislead you for money.
Each truck is different. Mine did NOT have any boost leaks.
Even trying to pull my dump trailer--8,000 lbs---I had to glue one eye on the pyro and it still smoked everyone out untill up above 2000,2200 Ran good after that but I didn't want to set my idle speed up there!!!!!

this is all great stuff guys but i dont have anything wrong with the truck its just the combo of the turbo the big tires and 3.55 gears, I really am interested at investing in twin turbos and need more advice in that area, thanks
More load on the turbo makes it spool easier. Your turbo (or turbo system) has something wrong with it if its spooling at 2100 rpm. Lil Dog has pretty much the same turbo on his truck, DDP3's and a 3k GSK, and its about 1600 rpm on his truck. Check the charge air system for leaks (not visually, but actually pressurize it). If that checks out, pull the turbo and inspect the wastegate pucks. These housings are known to crack, if its cracked out around the wastegate, you'll have a lazy turbo. Putting another one underneath it isn't going to change that fact.
I should be more clear when I say it "lights" at 2100, it actually spools up to about 10-12 psi at 1600 then rapidly starts to climb at 1900 and reaches 36 psi at around 2100. How do I pressrize the charge air system? How do I know what parameters mean that it checks out OK? If it does check out ok and im still not happy with the performance of my current set up due to high egt's while pulling, what single or compound turbo setup should I look at investing into? Does anyone use the ddp turbo and if so how do you like them?
