LOL! I ask myself that once or twice every winter.
My wife & I grew up around here and decided to get closer to family.

Dangerous Dave,
I like your sig. I feel exactly the same way about guns and just as strong about illegals....

Back on topic. When it's around 20* I plug the truck in. I don't normally use the truck everyday so that's another reason why. I will also plug it in longer because it's not run everyday.

With 2 good batteries and 0W40 synthetic oil, I don't plug it in until -10 Celsius (14 Fahrenheit) and no problems. The reflash, 3 cylinder, high idle sounds like a rod is coming through the block but the egt's are sitting at 625 vs just the fast idle which is 300.
JMHO.

Man I plugged in last night! It's about 25 out there right now and I'm gonna find out just how good the block heater works in a few minutes!

Yep!

I am a firm believer in plugging in now.

My power company loves me because I haven't got a timer yet, but my sweetheart loves me even more.......She fires off first click and never ever even groans moving!

I run my block heater for 3 hours and it starts fine.

Anyone running a tank heater for the coolant. I have a pretty short drive to work and it never reaches operating temp by the time i get there, that and i freeze my you know what off. I was thinking about getting one of the 2000 watt KAT heaters off of amazon. Have no clue on how to hook it up without having to remove a freeze plug. Just the heater lines?

i plug my truck if its below 45 because my grid heaters relays don't work so, if i didn't plug it in my truck is a pain to start usually takes a few tries before it stays running. so i just plug it in overnight, tho it works fine if i only plug it in for 3hrs does the same.

It was a revelation this morning!

It was so nice that even though we may not freeze tonight I've done plugged in again!
