Lift the hood and look for a placard in center of hood above the grill. This will give equipment info for the truck which should include the axle ratio.

The ratio will be 3:54 or 4:10.

All 94 2500's will have a Dana 70 rear with 1.5" 35 spline shafts and will most likely have the 3.54 gears as 4.10 was an option that was not included in every model. Go with the carrier that the factory included in Dana 70's: a Dana powr lok. IMO, it's the strongest and most durable limited slip you can buy.

I'm quite certain the Dana 70 is 32 spline, and the Dana 80 is 35 spline. No not all 2500's come with only Dana 70's. Here's the breakdown:

2500 with auto trans; Dana 70
2500 with manual trans; Dana 80
3500 both trans; Dana 80

If I remember correctly, the 4.10 gears automatically came with a limited slip.
The 3.54's was standard as an open diff, limited slip was optional.

Dana 70HD or Dana 80 doesnt matter.

The reason i say this is because the carriers are the same all you need to tell us is the ratio, 3.73 is the split. then if it turns out to be an 80 with 3.54's you get a Power Lok for a Dana 70HD 3.54 bore the ring gear bolt holes out ot the larger bolts.
When removing the open carrier and installing the LSD Pull the spacers out of the diff that are between the carrier barrings and the housing the LSD doesnt use them an open carrier does. (same as an AMC model 20 when changing from open to LSD)

You'll be good to go.

Plus sometimes it is cheaper getting the Dana 70 Power Lok than trying to get a Dana 80 diff too especially since Dan spicer discontinued production on the power Lok and the automatic service replacement now is a bolt together trash lok (Trac Lok) which they will tell you is a better LSD. To each thier own, there is a reason i figured out how to put the Dana 70HD power Lok into my dana 80 over the factory trac lok, predictability/manners on the snow was a big factor.

You'll have a dana 80 (unless someone changed it) since yours is a 1994 5spd 2wd also 94 was back to the 35 spline rear axles in the 70's and 80's for dodges. 93 last year of the 70 32spline

Only a 70 HD and a 80 share carriers. Standard 70 carriers are smaller and do not interchange with the HD. Over the years, there have been about 3 different 70 carrier styles that do not interchange, so it is very important when ordering a carrier for a 70 that you correctly identfy the axle. This can be done by getting the #'s off the ring gear.
