What mods/HP will the stock clutch handle?

Just picked up a 94 2wd with a 5 speed and I am wondering how much HP the stock clutch will handle? I have only owned automatics unfortunately. This is my 1st 5 speed.

I'd say you'd be able to handle around 300hp. Mine was slipping as soon as I put a 10 plate in mine, but mine is also a 215 pump, puts out a bit more fuel with just a plate than the 160/175 pumps.

I've seen the stock clutches slip with only the stock plate full forward.
That's only a 50 hp increase.
Of course it all depends on how you drive and how worn the clutch is.

I just slipped mine for the first time last weekend - #11 plate full forward, 215 pump, BHAF & 4" exhaust. Dropped the hammer on it going uphill & at 2k rpms in 5th / 35 psi boost, clutch just couldn't hold.

180k on the truck - *may* be the original clutch. Dunno.
