I wouldn't doubt it, back in my younger days I had a honda, and they said I couldn't just buy the tps sensor I had to buy the whole throttle body!

Cummins will sell just wategates. For parts not in your CPL or engine number spec, you either need a very smart person at the parts counter or bring them the actual P/N.

The dealer is very limited on the parts they can get and in the case of items such as a turbo, yes only complete package. Local dealer often orders parts from Cummins to cut cost or simply get the actual repair parts such as a blown wastegate actuator. DC usually marked up 2-10x the price you pay at Cummins.

Back when my friend was a Banks installer I was able to get several stock gates for people who blew theirs out by testing with too high pressure compressed air.
Find a Banks installer near you and ask, they usually have a bunch lying around that people leave when upgrading.

I had to replace mine and it was a pain. Called BD and Piers and niether could help me. Finally got a local Cummins shop to order one. It took three weeks and they said it came from Atlanta or somewhere down there in the south, the only one they could find. $286 canadian dollars.
