Smoke ?

Just wondering if this make any sense. I did a lifter adjustment and the truck seems to smoke alot less then it did before. Could they have been that far out? Also when I was reading the instructions on doing the valve adjustment I noticed that it stated not to use the gray valve cover gaskets, unfortunately that was what Cummins gave me. Is this going to be a problem? No leaks yet. I have to say the truck definately runs smoother, it even picked up idle a little.

Nope

they grey gaskets are the newer ones that cummins is using rather thant he old black ones. I have not done a lifter adjustment yet so i cannot help you with that... but there are not many new black gaskets

Just an FYI, Felpro makes a nice gasket kit, they are black and come with a o ring for the hold down bolt also. Got mine locally for $4.99 ea. Work nicely Jim

I just reused my grey gaskets and got a new O-ring from Cummins, no leaks.
