Where is the easiest place to get valve cover gaskets for a 12v? I know the dealer will want a small fortune for them, anywhere online to order them?
Also I was thinking about painting the covers to match the truck, do the valve covers get hot enough to flake off a normal body paint? Do I have to use a high temp enamel?

Best bet for gaskets is Cummins. For paint, just get some engine paint in the color you want.

I got mine at NAPA, PN: VS50215S
They come with the O-ring for the bolt too.

Got mine at AutoZone. They are FelPro part number VS50396R and are the black ones that do not get soft like the grey replacements. They also come with the o-ring for the bolt and are about $1.60 each.

You could also try a Case IH or AGCO or White...AGCO (Cummins) Part Number is 3930906, but my price is pushing $7.00. Don't know how cost effective that is either
