Post the part number! The guys at my autozone always give me that deer in the headlights look when I say "diesel".

When putting the gasket on the number 6 cylinder, use a little crazy glue to hold it in place while putting the cover back on. I can get kind of tricky getting that one back on. Thanks, Kevin

Thr black won't last as long as the grey.
The black harden alot quicker than the grey
I didn't think you could even get black anymore.

sorry about that, the fel-pro number is " VS 50396 R" valve cover set. You need six sets to do all valves. Pakage says it fits 1988 to 1997 dodge truck 5.9L turbo diesel engine.

from what I gather from a previous post the gray ones seal better but are a one time use because they swell and distort when used. the black ones are reuseable for a couple times before they have to be replaced.

I hate the Cummins gray ones. It's true, they do swell up and stretch out when you take them off and don't go back on without a fight.

I buy the black ones whenever possible.

Have found the grey ones are pretty much a one use deal. Never had them swell, though.
