used overflow valve in new IP
The factory service manual says Do not install a used overflow valve into a new or remanufactured pump.
What do I risk if I do use my old overflow valve?

The OFV establishes the internal pressure in the IP. If the valve is bad internal pressure will be wrong. If the spring in the used OFV is good, and at exactly .5 inches, it will give the pressure required and should work just fine.
