U joint part #

Could someone please post the part number of the u joint used on the rear drive shaft of the 94 2500 4x4. Napa dealer here told me there are 3 different u joints used on the rear shaft of these trucks.

There are 2, one at the tranny and one at the rear diff.

the rest are just different quality and/or greaseable.

that link doesn't go where I wanted it to.
try this it's the one at the rear diff.

I don't know how far you are from Napa or have alternate transportation but what I do when the counter guy says there are X number of different parts is ask them to stock all of them so I can bring any back for trade if they don't fit.
My Napa guys are very happy to do this at no change.

There is the possibility of having 3 U joints on one rear drive shaft. I have them plus the carrier bearing. There will be two different types of u-joints also; one with a grease fitting and one without. I recomend the grease fittings.

Tell him that it is the rear joint in a dana/spicer 70 truck. If he cannot get the right joint, he is the typical parts guy.

I love these "typical parts guys". "Hey can you find me a head light buld for a 2001 Dodge 3/4 ton?"...He says, "Is it a 2 wheel drive or a four wheel drive?".....Uh, pick one it doesn't matter.

It is sad that I have heard similar things too many times.

All the Napa's I've called don't carry Spicer, but said that "theirs" are made by Spicer? Is that true?

Probably. I didn't mean to get a Spicer joint though, I meant the rear axle is a Dana/Spicer 70. They said they showed three types of joints because there are three axles used, the Dana 60,70,and 80. In the front on 4wd applications the Dana 60 is always used in the diesel application.
