Turbo not spooling

Its a fleece cheetah on a completely stock 12 valve, I should still get way more boost than 12 PSI.

On another thought this AFE manifold is completely, incompatible with this truck if you are using an EGT probe. Trucks gonna be dead for another 2 weeks while I order a different manifold and return this one.

I thought these ISSPRO guages were gonna be much smoother but they are super twitchy especially the boost gauge, takes away from the quality.

Not enough fuel. Is your fuel filter clogged?
Please put full description of your truck in signature.

I see some smoke out the exhaust, more so than I did with the stock turbo.

How much boost was generated with the stock manifold and stock turbo?

I actually never checked, I ordered a BD pulse manifold, when it gets in I'm gonna put the stock turbo back on with it and check, but it was alot more boost than this cause the truck feels dead with this turbo.

What's your EGT when you try to spool it?
(Please state if pre or post turbo pyro probe)

My EGT was read under 400 pre turbo which is wrong, the probe isnt long enough to stick into the exhaust stream, waiting on a different manifold, I'll run my stock turbo to compare before I put the cheetah back on.

How is the wastegate setup on the new turbo, and is it connected? Wired shut or ? Assuming the AFC has a good reference line right off the manifold , and fuel pressure is good.

Stock fuel plate with unmolested pump won't fuel much past 15-17 psi stock, generally. That could be less with a larger turbo and same fuel. What are your plans with the truck for power? For testing purposes tank the fuel plate and keep your foot out of it for much longer than 15 seconds if the pyro isn't accurate. Should pull pretty good.

My BD manifold comes in tomorrow, with it ill have actual egt readings, this AFE manifold is just straight up not good, not sure what they were doing when they designed it, its like they didnt even test fit it on their own trucks.

The waste gate is hooked up and fleece said its supposed to open at 30 PSI.

Plan is just a turbo and maybe some slight mods to the pump for some additional power, looking to push 35 psi with what ever gets me there. The cheetah isn't anywhere that big compared to the stock holset surprised its so hard to spin up.

On a second note the turbo sounds like its working hard, i got no boost leaks but when I touched it the compressor was very hot.

I wish this thing had a turbo speed gauge port.

Just for grins and giggles- did you test your boost gauge?

(I usually take a tire filler and some hoses to see if it's in the ballpark.. would not be the first time a gauge is wrong...)

Hot compressor housing... can you check the charger for rub marks in the housing- does it spin freely?

I've come to the conclusion this turbo is just too big and laggy for my poor stock 12 valve, going back to stock and just gonna unplug the waste gate on my HX35 ( stock fuel wont over speed/boost it) and might just get a fuel plate and governor springs.

Why don't you get your gauges straightened out, then try some tuning. Grind or remove your fuel plate, make sure fuel pressure is around 30 psi under load. That "cheetah" shouldn't be too big to not spool with minor fueling mods.

Nah I decided I'd rather just drive around a reliable tractor rather than poking what might end being a very angry wallet bear. Regardless the cheetah is never gonna have the response of the smaller turbo, I need that nice low RPM boost. I might do some mods to let the stocker spin up to speed though.

Got the stock turbo back in, disconnected the wastegate line and plugged the boost port on the cold side, gonna see how much its gonna give me.
