I just purchased a 1993 dodge cummins turbo diesel. Its an extended cab automatic dually. When I was driving it home the transmission felt like it was trying to downshift between fifty and sixty miles an hour. I was wondering if anyone might know what the possible problem could be? It seems to shift smoothly through all of the gears and will drive at seventy fine. I was going to change the transmission fluid and filter as soon as I can. Any help would be appreciated!

 

It sounds like you are right at the spot where it shifts to drive or overdrive look. Pull the pan readjust the bands change the filter and fluid and let us know how that goes.
The band adjustment should be for a 46rh
* Front Band - tighten to 72 in-lb, back off 2-1/2 turns
* Rear Band - Tighten to 72 in-lb, back off 2 turns

 

Chesk the TPS voltage should be 1 volt
