Transmission fluid leak
Transmission fluid leak
Got a leak that I can't fix. I replaced teheran metal transmission lines going to the trans case about a year ago, but lately I've noticed a leak near the quick disconnects at the lines that go from the trans cooler to the metal trans case lines. I disconnected the lines at the quick connects and inspected the o-rings, they looked ok but I replaced the lines anyway. I replaced the lines started the truck, applied the parking brake and put the truck in drive, saw no noticeable leak. Thought the problem was fixed. Then this morning i went to do some errands and came back home and noticed that i still had a leak
.So the metal trans lines are somewhat new and the trans cooler lines are brand new. I didnt replace the little keepers at the disconnects but I didn't think that would be a issue. What is going on!?!?!?

Check around the line where the crimp is also check line for cracks at the flare, just where it goes into quick disconnect. Mine had a small crack there and was hard to find it.
im thinking about just packing the quick connect especially around the seal with rtv silicone, im hoping to stop the leak for a while (about to sell it). I will check around the flared end of the hard metal lines again but when i installed the new lines i could not see anything out of the ordinary.
